(New Orleans, LA) April 13, 2014
The New Orleans based Gypsy-Trad-Jazz quintet ensemble HARMONOUCHE has been generating enthusiasm amongst music lovers and dancers for its fun, fresh and creative performances. Their music is loaded with charisma, world-class musicianship and a good dose of humor. The band delivers a unique sound orchestrated with jazz guitar, diatonic harmonica, singing, whistling and lip trumpeting (Raphaël Bas), clarinet (Chris Kohl), stand- up bass (Tim Paco), piano and accordion (Bart Ramsey), tenor saxophone and cajon (Pascal Valcasara).
Joli Songe (“Nice Dream”) is the latest collection of songs recorded live on March 10 and 11, 2014, at Word Of Mouth studio, mixed by Tim Stambaugh and mastered by multi Grammy award winner David Farrell.
The new CD’s thirteen tracks include a mixture of original French songs, Gypsy Jazz fast Swing and captivating ballads, along with early Blues and New Orleans Trad Jazz.
Jolie Songe is a journey in time and space, once again bridging the historical and constant musical influences from either side of the “big pond.” The compositions are a modern interpretation and collective expression of five talented musicians, friends and music lovers.
HARMONOUCHE released Joli Songe during its performance at the 2014 French Quarter Festival on April 13th. The band will next appear at the Louisiana Music Factory on April 29th (in-store show at noon), and at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 4th on the Lagniappe stage at 11:30 am.
